To help promote the Kverneland range of grass equipment including mowers, rakes and tedders, the team from Kverneland Ireland hit the road for Cork to stage a working demonstration in conjunction with local Kverneland dealer Lynch & McCarthy.
The demonstration was held on the farm of Michael Dunne, just outside Fermoy, the large unit here supports a dairy and beef enterprise and each year harvests over 400 acres of grass for winter feed using a wagon system.
The grass to be cut was of superb quality and first machine to be used was the TA3632 front mounted mower in combination with a TA4332 CT fitted with spreading vanes. Travelling at up to 16km/h the farmers and contractors in attendance were hugely impressed with the suspension and cutting quality of both mowers. The spreading vanes on the TA4332 also drew great praise and should become a more popular option as farmers continue to focus on making better quality forage.
Immediately after the grass was cut, the TA8055 four rotor Tedder was on hand to scatter the rows and ensure excellent wilting, particularly with temperatures reaching up to 23 degrees Celsius on the day. Following this was the single rotor TA9546 rake which formed a neat 25ft swath for the wagon which was picking up. Customers loved the way the rake followed the ground and gently gathered in the grass.
Overall approximately 100 farmers and contractors turned up on the day and offered many favourable comments on the range of Kverneland machines. Some more of these demonstrations are planned for the coming months so don’t miss your chance to see the Kverneland team in action!
