Kverneland Group Ireland in association with local dealer Armstrong Machinery, Lusk, Co. Dublin recently held a precision farming open evening to highlight the wide range of cropcare and tillage implements available from Kverneland and Vicon.
Armstrong Machinery are situated in North Dublin which is a prime area of Ireland for producing high value crops such as potatoes and vegetables including carrots, parsnips, cabbage and onions. Growers in this region are very professional in to how they manage their crops and are well aware of the need for accuracy and efficiency to help combat the rising input costs and increased EU regulations. With this in mind the Vicon RO-EDW GEOSPREAD proved to be a major attraction on the day. Customers got a chance to see and feel the technology that is available and speak with the product specialists; it was noticeable how impressed they were especially when cost savings of up to 15% were mentioned.
Many of the farmers were also taken in by the wide range of seed drills available from Kverneland with the Idrill Pro and CX Ultra coulter proving a big attraction, particularly as power harrow and drill combinations are still the preferred choice of establishment in this region. Hopefully with prospects looking good for harvest there is potential for useful business to be done in the coming season.
